Cow Crossing

I had a bit of a delay coming home today. Apparently someone rammed into our neighbor's fence and their cows went for a stroll. Where's a camera when you need it the most....or at least when you have some time on your hands due to a bunch of cows in the middle of the road.

back where we used to live, it was a fairly common experience at certain "field moving" times of year to be stopped on a MAJOR hiway to wait for the cattle round-ups.

it annoyed me the first time it happened because i had ice cream melting in my grocery bags...but with each experience it became more enthralling to me.

to see these modern day "cowboys" ranging in age from 5 to 65 using both modern (4 wheelers) and traditional (horses) means to guide them...it was really a treat. i actually miss it.
